My Birthday Week
This hasn’t been easy for me the
past couple weeks. My grandma recently passed away three weeks ago and barely
two weeks ago they buried her and was very hard seeing that especially since
she was living at my house for a long time. I was used to seeing her everyday
when I got home from work. When, this sudden tragedy happen, I was afraid to
ask for anything even dinner with my immediate family. My birthday is on
October 15. I woke up and went to work just like any other day. I get there and
my boss had baked me a mint chocolate chip cake. I thought it was very thoughtful
of her to do that. I get home and there was nothing. I didn’t say anything
about my birthday. Until this past Friday I made a comment that no one cares
about me and I am not important. My parents had no idea what I was talking
about until I told them they forgot my birthday. All they said was “Happy Birthday.”
Hi Jessica, I am sorry to hear your own family didn’t recognize your birthday. I am sure they have been just as distraught about the loss of your grandmother as you have. This is not to give them an excuse by any means. Since, people deal with stresses and heartache differently; we really have no idea what goes on in people’s minds? It’s good to hear your handling it well, and you’re able to still keep on top of your work and school responsibilities. Sorry for your loss, but she is in a better place definitely looking over you ok. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about the passing of your grandma. I don't think your family intentionally forgot your birthday. It must be a hard time for your family right now.
ReplyDeleteIm sorry about your loss, i myself lost two siblings within the same month and I know how hard it can be. That was very nice of your boss to give you that gift.
ReplyDeleteI am really sorry to hear about your grandma. It must be hard to handle all of that within a few weeks.I hope it gets a little easier to handle with time but for now take care and don't be afraid to speak your mind.
