Reality TV shows

Reality Shows
We all have watched reality shows at one point in our lives. Whether they were bad, good, or sad we have all watched them. I myself try to stay away from some reality shows but it is difficult. I must say it is a guilty pleasure of mine to watch them.
It has its pros and cons to watching reality shows. For instance, some shows such as “Jersey Shore” have no meaning to it. I have watched some shows but I don’t see the point of eight strangers living under the same roof, partying, drinking, and getting laid. Then there are other shows such as “American Idol” where people follow their dreams in becoming a singer and they have good intentions.
Regardless of whatever type of reality show, it is still considered a show.  I am not saying that everything is real or fake, but to a certain extent yes it is real. For instance, “Teen Mom,” it does show them struggling to do whatever they want while having a child. It does show that they have to do a lot sacrifices for their child. But at the end its still a show, where they get paid per episode and doesn’t really show everything from day one.
I believe some shows are harmful to our society and some shows are not. It just depends on what show you allow yourself to watch. Some shows such as “America’s Best Dance Crew” is an awesome show because not only how they dance is unbelievable but it shows a lot of dedication and hard work that was put into it. Its not like they were born amazing dancers, they had to work for it. And you have other shows such as “Sixteen and Pregnant.” I can simply understand that they want to know how difficult it is to be a teen mom and what not, but these teen parents that come out on the show, get paid for it. But I don’t see the positive influence on this but children having children. And in today’s society it almost seem that the parents of these kids approve of them having children and they will take care of their kids while they attend school.  In my opinion, if they are old enough to have kids, then your old enough to get yourself a job, an apartment, and a job.
I try to avoid reality shows because sometimes it does upset me because people from the “Jersey Shore” get paid to act like fools and get drunk in public. Then there are other shows that are very positive such as “America’s Best Dance Crew” where these dancers work hard, and are devoted into what they do and it shows it in their dance routine.

  3. I totally agree with you on what you're saying how they get paid to act like fools. And I love America's best dance crew too! A few of the choreographers for the team I was on were on the show.
